It's seriously been more than 2 years since I wrote a journal entry? That's just freaking nuts. Well, I guess it's storytime.
So late 2011 was very interesting - I wound up dating a girl I'd had a crush on my freshman year of high school, which worked out fine up until prom season in 2012 was done, at which point she dumped me after I'd spent nearly $800 going to two separate proms. (Note that I hate school functions like that - always have, always will.) Turns out she was cheating on me with her ex, who happened to be a friend of mine. Yeah.. that was not fun to find out.
Following that, early 2012 included me being accepted into the DigiPen Institute of Technology - I enrolled as a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Game Design! The rest of 2012 passed by agonizingly slowly as I waited for the day I could move from Nebraska to Washington. I met another girl a little less than a month before I left, and we had some good times together, but she broke up with me when I was about halfway through my road trip to Redmond, and it turns out that she was seeing someone else even as I was leaving. (I sure know how to pick 'em, eh? )
I've been involved in two game teams and produced two full games: A puzzle platformer and a point-and-click adventure. My puzzle platformer was a dungeon-crawling adventure where you played as a woman exploring the dungeon her Paladin boyfriend disappeared in, slaying undead enemies by shining lights on them. If you're curious and want to play it, you can do so by downloading it from here: [Link]
Midway through my first year at DigiPen, I lost my grandmother to cancer. It's still really weird to think about, and a bit scary when I realize that already 5% of my life now has been spent without her to talk to. She was a very close friend to me as well as a trusted family member, and one of the last points of sanity when it comes to my extended family. Classes did not go too well with this and subsequent family drama weighing down on me.
I came back to Nebraska for the summer, and took a few classes at the local university, and then headed out here for my sophomore year. I'm currently enrolled in Calculus II, Physics, Interface Design, and Storytelling, all of which are interesting classes, though Physics is more tedious than anything else, and Interface Design feels like the teacher doesn't really know what he's doing at times. I'm in a school-unrelated team, working on a game project just for the fun of it, as well as working on my first larger-scale commercial project, AWAKE. You can check out how that's going on Toybox Monolith: [Link]
I don't plan to be uploading much stuff here, but if you want to keep in touch, I'll try and update my journal more regularly.

One Last Goodbye
So I think it's more than apparent that I've stopped coming to DeviantArt. All in all, the friends I've made here have come and gone with a few exceptions, and the novelty of the site seems to have worn off for me. I'm going to continue working on projects, but will be doing so on my own site. If any of you guys still want to keep in touch, send me a message or something.
Wishing you all the best,
~Christopher D. Knapp

Wow this is an entry of mixed reaction, I was happy that you got to learn and have been working on actually making games, but gutted for you when you mentioned your relationships with some girls who cheated on you.
Not to mention how crushed I felt when I read on further and found out you lost your grandmother. I mean wow, that is terrible and tragic news. All I can say is I hope it was as peaceful and painless as possible for her.
As someone who also lost their grandmother to cancer, and who has recently found out their aunt has terminal cancer, I can empathise with how you must have felt. Cancer always seems to claim the most wonderful people in our lives. :c
Still, trying to finish on a happier note, glad to hear you're also trying to work on other projects, and I hope life has been treating you a bit better.
